Video Update!

A Night of Revelation
As the rain poured down around us, the crackling flames of the campfire provided a mesmerizing backdrop to our deep conversation. With each raindrop creating a soothing rhythm, my thoughts began to unravel, and clarity emerged.
Amidst the natural symphony, in the company of a good friend, I found myself grappling with questions that had long evaded me. The gentle hiss of the rain and the warmth of the fire seemed to coax out elusive revelations and insights, setting my mind alight with newfound understanding.
In that euphoric moment, as we wove our thoughts and dreams together, the deluge of rain served as a cleansing force, washing away the mental fog that had obscured my path. Amidst the downpour and crackling fire, I found a sense of purpose and clarity, and a perspective that had eluded me for so long.
It was a night of epiphanies, of fresh perspectives, and a rekindling of the soul by the primal elements. As the fire flickered and the rain continued to pour, I emerged from that hallowed space with a renewed spirit and a clearer vision, ready to embrace the journey ahead.

2024 Class Schedule!

They say that faith is the most powerful force in the world. That is why I am still here at 8:15 on a Friday night, frantically putting the final touches on this blog post. It's exhilarating for me as I am announcing my three new. Long-term online classes, the massive price cut to my webinars that I made after I realized compared to others. I was charging a bit high for some of the other things I'm too.

As we step into 2024, it’s a moment to reflect on the journey that has brought us here. Looking back, I am overwhelmed by the growth I see within myself. The wisdom gained from listening to my elders and successful friends has been immeasurable. I can confidently proclaim that I am 100,000,000% wiser than I was on this day last year.
As a photographer, I have the unique ability to revisit the past through my work. This allows me to meditate on the lessons learned, the mistakes made, and the invaluable connections forged. The willingness of new friends to share their knowledge and insights has been a blessing, and I am deeply grateful for their guidance.

The journey of self-improvement and professional growth has been challenging. There were moments when the weight of it all seemed impossible. Yet, I stand here today with unwavering confidence in my ability to see my vision come to life.
2024 marks a new chapter where this wealth of knowledge and experiences will be implemented. It's a year to honor the past's teachings and fearlessly pursue the aspirations cultivated through reflection and resilience. As I work, sometimes I do an archaeological dig of my past. I realized how what can seem like an insignificant choice at the time can alter your life forever.

Let us be the change that we want to see in the world. Even if we wake up and feel like the world is crushing us, We still have the choice. We can get out of bed, suit up, and put a smile on our face, and be grateful to be alive and blessed with every new day

If you ever find yourself lost in the woods and forget the knife you usually carry, you should learn as many ways of creating a sharp edge using natural materials as possible. The art of flint knapping is breaking certain types of rocks that only exist in various pockets around the country into stone knives and arrowheads. You can take some rocks, smash them on the ground, and get an edge to carve a Bowdrill notch, but you'll want something a little more precise eventually. Bone tools can be shaped into anything from the fishhook to spearpoint. That material is animal bone.

Lastly, I have decided to start offering online preparedness evaluations. I've met too many people who think they're prepared, only to learn they are woefully underprepared.

We will start the process by setting up a time for a Zoom meeting, and I'll ask you to prepare a few things for the meeting. I will assess what sort of emergency supplies your household has. I will then spend some time going over the basics of preparedness.

After our session, I will compile a list of things you should get in the best place to get them from. I will never recommend a product I have not personally put through the ringers. If you're interested in this, please feel free to contact me. Once this storm passes and power is restored. I will be creating a page on my website with more information about this “new service.”

I've got a few other bits to discuss, but I will save that for a YouTube video follow-up. I want to show you some things you will learn during these new classes. Every day, I ponder where we went wrong as a species. I try to think of ways to make nature and our role in it something people have at the forefront of their minds. I want them to ask, “What can I do today to improve the world?” My dream is a world of Caretakers moving through life and spreading the Peace, Love, Joy, and Purpose we all inherently crave.

Helping people heighten their awareness, changing the way they move through the world, and teaching the ways our ancient hunter-gatherer ancestors used to live in a close relationship with nature is my vision in life. Following my father’s lead, I have taken the torch, But it has not been easy. Between my lack of business knowledge (Thanks to those of you who have been helping me with this skillset), Lack of funding, and near-crippling Lyme Disease, I find myself in a conundrum. What do I do? I am offering a product that is far superior to any other. This is a chance to help me educate people on the joy of a deep connection to Nature. Every day, the fight gets harder for me as my Lymes disease worsens. I ask with everything I have to please donate so I can realize my vision and not have it cause such detrimental effects on my body. Oh, Help Me Oh-Who-Know-Nature. You're My Only Hope!

Fear. I must not Fear. I was afraid the last time I did a crowdfunding campaign; this time, I am Filled with hope. Despite falling short of my goal in our last fundraiser, FutureNature/T3Photography remains committed to making the best use of the funds I did raise. I believe in transparency and accountability, and I want to take a moment to update everyone on how I utilized the resources I got from my first go-round.
Through my first campaign, I met folks who booked classes everywhere, from Alaska to Tennessee. I am thrilled to have connected with individuals passionate about exploring the beauty of the natural world and empowering them with the skills needed to become that one with nature and a true caretaker.
I find myself in a bit of a conundrum. Even though I have classes booked, I can't collect the money until I run them, and I will be out of funds before that happens. That's the nature of the beast of being an outdoor educator. You can't collect all the funds at once in case people need to cancel, so I only ask for a deposit upfront, with the rest due upon class completion. I didn't expect to have this many difficulties. A big thorn in my side is last June's social media hack. Because of that, I am banned from running ads, and I have yet to figure out how to regain my privileges. Thank you all for considering donating. Your funds will not be wasted. I believe deeply in what I do, and I've been working so hard that it's harming my health due to my chronic Lymes. I would be just as exhausted, even if I didn't have it. I am one person trying to run two businesses, and my goal is to make a better world and a brighter future for all beings and the Earth.

Lost and Searching

Hello Friends!

Before I get into this month's blog post, I wanted to announce that as of tomorrow, July 15, for two weeks, I will be running a sale on everything "T3." Be it the poster prints Sold on my site, Or maybe you want a custom print on wood, glass, canvas, or metal! The sale also includes all programming, both public and Private, as well as in-home preparedness evaluations! Contact me if you have any questions! Tom Elpel, author of “Botany in A Day,” just came and spent three days on our land during his 2-week Oregon Botany intensive. I had the honor of teaching the afternoons. His visit made me realize I need to step up my plant game! I will also be releasing a blog post about that experience very shortly. Now onto the story! 

I encountered this wild horse on the way to meet a new student. As I was stalked up to get a little bit closer, we locked eyes, and I learned one of the most profound lessons I have had in a long time. I got home late yesterday and downloaded my memory card. I began to cry uncontrollably when I got to this photo and started editing it. Part of it was due to sheer beauty; the main reason was the lesson I learned. 

I realized I had lost the once wild and free part of me. Every day I wake up and continue trying to assemble this puzzle and create two successful, sustainable businesses. Being an entrepreneur is tough, but lately, I miss the freedoms I once had, and I am desperately trying to find the T3 you all know and love. I don't know why everything has been such a struggle. I feel like I must've really ticked off some omnipotent being. I had always opposed appearing in the media until I met April Vokey, who invited me to be interviewed for her podcast called Anchored. At That moment, I had to choose whether I go through the usual chatter about why Nature is so fantastic or do I honestly, with all the gory details, tell my story to prove that Nature can heal us if we allow it. I chose to be an open book and will remain so. This was the main part of the lesson. I am who I am., and I shouldn’t have to hide parts of my life because they don’t fit other people’s opinions or narratives about who I am as a human. I am T3, a Professional Photographer and a Nature Educator. After all, I am living proof that a connection to Nature can heal anything. (I have yet to find the money tree. I will let you know when I do!”

Those who know my story know that I struggled with addiction decades ago, beginning with my connection to Nature severed when my parents divorced and I moved to suburbia at the start of 7th grade. By the time I was in my early 20s, I had become heavily addicted to Heroin. A good friend took me in, cleaned me up, and plugged me back into Nature. 

After some years of wandering and practicing the skills I teach, I decided it was time to "follow" in my father's footprints. For the last few decades, my vision has been to lead people back to the Earth and help them heal modern life's damage. I know this for a fact because I experienced it firsthand. I have countless stories from students who have completely transformed into bright shining beings after decades of leading a dull existence, all due to spending time in Nature.

 I suffer from chronic Lyme Disease, which I have had for 36 years, but it has only started to affect me in the last ten years. That, combined with the stressors of endlessly working to try and build FutureNature and T3Photography. Sometimes I realize it's 8 pm, and I haven't eaten anything yet because I get so wrapped up in my work, have caused me to lose weight. Certain folks out there think that the reason for my weight loss and business struggles I've been going through is that I am abusing drugs again. What hurts most is that nothing could be further from the truth.

 I know what people say behind your back is none of your business, and I appreciate those who have reached out to me to see how I'm doing. Others just spread gossip on social media, which affects my business life.

If I was using it again, I can tell you that I wouldn't have the gear that allows me to take the photos and videos that I do, my website to have a space to share my thoughts and feelings with you, either through blog posts or videos on my Youtube, Or any of the other soul-destroying social media content I create almost daily. It took me a long time and much struggle to become the man I am today. A line from one of my favorite Avett brother’s songs sums it up. The title is “A Perfect Space,” and the lyric is “I want to have friends that I can trust, that love me for the man I have become, not the man that I was.” even though I am struggling, The only thing I take these days that aren't supplements is 3:1 CBD tincture at night, so my body isn't in as much pain when I wake up, from my Lymes.

Whenever I struggle with any decision or issue, I always try to take it to the woods and sit, seeking a light in the storm and clarifying my next steps. But my inner vision has been quiet lately. The only reason I can come up with is each time I enter the wilderness, no matter how much I try and "empty my cup" and listen for the voice from a place of the quiet mind, I get slammed by my worries. Am I going to have enough to pay my bills this month? What can I do better or differently to ease some financial burdens?

 To top it all off, my best four-legged friend, Kora, about to turn 16, is nearing her end. Kora has been with me through the best and worst times, and I can't imagine life without her. More tears.

I know that when times are tough, you call upon the community, and If I could give you the whole story about how I ended up here, I would. Still, my word is my bond, and I always try and be a man of my word and live as openly and honestly as I can, and no comment or misinformation will keep me from doing so. When I started FutureNature, it was on a path to guaranteed success. My life would be much more stable. Im trying to let that part of my story behind me, but details still hold me back. I will say that it is one of the main reasons I find myself in my current conundrum.

My main reason for writing this is to seek help and guidance from the community I have been a part of since birth. I need some wisdom from my elders. I also need to seek investors that want to see a bright future for all beings and seek to heal the damage we have caused to our one and only home, Mother Earth. I have a few dedicated folks who have been helping me. You may have heard of my refer to them as my "Brain Trust." I am honored that these few humans have taken the time to help advise me on business human skills that I do not possess, and I am forever in their debt. They truly embody the "Way of The Caretaker" I have been discussing for the last year or so. Thank you, you will know who you are when you read this. 

In Closing, I will ask a favor. Because I have been "shadow-banned" on specific social media channels for an unknown reason, and after over a year of emails, I still haven't gotten an answer. I pray for the day when I don't need to rely on these companies to spread my message; all my business will come through word-of-mouth. Until that day, simply liking and sharing my posts helped immensely, especially on Youtube.

If I could ask any favor, it would be to share my website with like-minded folks. Im moving more into the "Private, catered style classes" for individuals, families, and friend groups. I am also building out long-term online learning programs focusing on Nature Photography, Natural movement, Awareness, and Tracking, to name a few. Thoughts On Humans and Nature

It's been a while since I wrote a good old-fashioned blog post. I've been caught up in a social media content creation maelstrom, and I forgot about one of my true loves: writing. I want to start by thanking everyone who attended my free webinar last night. This was my way of thanking everyone in the community who came out to support me. Believe me when I say I have had my fair share of stormy waters. But nothing compares to these last nine months or so. As I backtrack myself, I realize how many things I did wrong, but most importantly, I am trying to focus on what I've done right. I've had to learn so many different skill sets, and if it weren't for the help of who I call my "brain trust," I wouldn't have made it this far. I have learned so much about being a business person from them. Somehow the irony gets to me. I can walk out my back door with a few simple items and live deep in the wilderness. But my father taught me not to run away when you have the skills and experience to lead people back to the temples of creation. Think about it for a second. I’m serious. We are on a ball, moving through the universe at 700,000 miles an hour, which is a giant living being. Your body is home to trillions of life forms that are not human. When I think about the sheer magnitude of it, I am humbled.

I am so thankful to live in a world of living art. While most of you reading this more than likely believe the way I do, far more people view the earth and its resources as a commodity to be taken and processed at all costs without considering the beings that were there first.

Now more than ever, we are at a crossroads as a species. We have all these fancy toys, but the problem is we're still meant to live in nature within a small community of people. Our technology has far reached past our evolution. Unfortunately, many people treat our home as a convenience store with plenty in stock. We have the technology and skill to build things that don't wear out after a year. However, this way of production is less profitable.  Always keeping up with the Joneses is killing our home. 

So I contemplate. How can we do away with the taker mentality and replace it with the caretaker mentality? It's time to give up all the hate, all the greed, and the seemingly endless violence. We fight wars over resources or religion. Think of how many billions of people have died by another human hand over everything from a border to a quarter. Do away with the taker mentality, and replace it with the caretaker mentality. It's time, people. It's time to give up all the hate, all the greed, and the seemingly endless violence.

I don't pretend to have all the answers. But one thing I do know is that a human truly reconnects with nature is that it changes everything about them. It fills the void that our society teaches us can be satiated by money, a high-paying job, or a fancy car.

When I lost my connection to the earth around 12 years old, it led me to some very dark places, and frankly, I am fortunate to be alive.

I'm going to give you a homework assignment. Every day, wake up, empty your cup, and do something good for the earth or another being. If people see you picking up trash on the street, they will do the same. Only we can save ourselves at this point and only as one human family.

Hi everybody! I started to type out this month's blog, and I thought to myself, "I'm sick of typing," and decided to do a video update instead to keep you occupied with pretty things while I talk. I've sandwiched in some epic drone footage from this week in the valley. First and foremost, I spoke about the schedule and how that's already up, and I have some more additions. I thought having a varied schedule would make things easier, but they did not. When you see your class title, it will clearly tell you if it's an online class or in person. With that being said, I'm going to be opening up a scheduling section of my website. This is a space where if you want to book some time to chat with me about setting up a private class or have a conversation about tracking and awareness, you can reserve a time slot. Consultations will be free, and I haven't decided on the price if you want a private one-on-one online session, but I will shortly!

There's not much longer in my indigo campaign, and I am only a quarter of the way to my goal. I have some private classes booked for early to mid-summer, and with my unemployment ending, I'm trying to figure out how to plug the holes, as they say. Also, there's a throwing stick raffle which I've decided to extend to July 1 because I haven't had enough tickets sold yet close but not quite there, so if you want to have a chance at winning a one-of-a-kind and made throwing stick by yours Truly! I didn't mention it in the video, but another service I will start offering is preparedness assessments for families and households. Most people are woefully Under prepared should some catastrophic event happen. I will come into your home and meet with your family and then will go through what stuff you do have, and then depending on what level of service you want, it could be as simple as me just providing you with a list of things that you should have on and at all times, what to buy to put in your go bag, all the way up to help you and your people design escape routes out of the city in the four cardinal directions with rendezvous points should you become separated. As the average person begins to feel are species' collective pain, there is a lot of fear. I am fearful people often do stupid things. I want to help ensure that you, your family, and your friends are ready to roll if disaster strikes. You can even do the basic preparedness inspection online

I was recently contacted by a well-known podcast and asked to be interviewed. I'm very much looking forward to it, as millions will hear my message. I am terrified of the aftermath, though. Think about all those emails ill need to answer!

A Glimpse into My Fathers Study

If any of you ever wondered why I walk the path I do, and why nature is such a sacred, beautiful, inspiring place. In the forest, you can find anything from an animal skull to healing, both mental and physical wounds.

"The Way Of The Caretaker" and My Class Schedule for the First Half of 2023!

It seems that something may be off-kilter with our species right now. We've been on Earth for quite a bit now, not considering our pre-Homosapien ancestors. Empires have risen only to fall more than a few times in our history. On my most optimistic days, I like to think that we are almost ready to reach a place of enlightenment. A place where we give up on the atrocities of war, violence, racism, sexism, and other horrible things we do to each other and the Earth. Don't you find it funny that we are supposedly the most advanced creatures on this planet, but most of us struggle to find our purpose in life? Bees pollinate flowers, and mycelia help break down the forest for litter to turn into compost; trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. How is it that bees, who are often thought of as “lesser beings,” automatically know, and fulfill their purpose, while that guy stands on the side of the road in front of the used car dealership every weekday flailing his arms?  Could that be his true purpose in this lifetime?

I think I have found the meaning of life or at least the purpose of mine. We are meant to be caretakers. We have thumbs for a reason. We can make a wide variety of tools, both physical and digital. Every tool has multiple purposes. Some can be used for good, and others for evil. Take the internet, for example. Here is a tool that allows us to access the breadth and length of the human experience. We can experience things from the other side of the world and learn about anything and everything. Yet, what do most people do? Shop, get into fights and become envious of people on social media who appear to have better lives than them. This is the trap. You're often only seeing the best moments of that person's life. Their shit days are just as bad as yours.

I’m sure you know this horrible truth already, but dare I remind you? Corporate entities profit from the division. They seek to divide us by race, class, sex, and net worth. They want us to fight with each other and argue on social media because it distracts us from waking up to reality.  The reality is that most of us are frankly stressed out, overworked, and probably questioning whether or not our job and many other life circumstances are honestly our true purpose in this lifetime.  Long story short, it's time to realize we are one human family. No matter what we look like, where we're from, and who we choose to love. It doesn't matter because we are all Homo sapiens. We all face the same fate if we don't unite as one world community, repair the damage we've caused each other, and then focus on healing the Earth.

I love it when I watch my students realize how much they've been missing when they go to the woods and open their eyes. I love watching the glow on someone's face as they blow their first tinder bundle into flames. It amazes me to watch them establish relations with beings they've walked by in their daily lives and barely noticed. In my 22 years of teaching nature skills, I have seen beyond a shadow of a doubt that simply spending time in nature heals. And since modern society causes many of our senses to atrophy, when you combine time in nature with simple body mechanics changes like eye gazing techniques or walking techniques, life can take on a whole new meaning! I have seen nature transform people countless times, so I break myself to bring about FutureNature.

Now that we have that out of the way, here is my schedule for the first half of 2023! There will be a few more classes, and collaborations added, and I will be sure and let you know about them!
