Embracing Adventure: Reflections, Updates, and New Beginnings

Before diving into the latest updates and upcoming events, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the unforgettable experience shared with the remarkable individuals from Les Primitifs group in Quebec. Last week marked a milestone in my teaching journey as we embarked on an extraordinary class that surpassed all expectations. Beginning with three days of warmth and camaraderie around the home fires, we ventured into the wilderness, immersing ourselves in nature with nothing more than essential provisions: a wool blanket, a modest ration of food, and a trusty knife. The resulting journey was life-changing for all involved, as evidenced by the cherished memories captured in the photos accompanying this post. To the incredible members of the Primitives, I extend my deepest gratitude for their presence and contributions, making it a truly spectacular week.

Reflecting on this profound experience, I am reminded that such transformative journeys are accessible to anyone willing to embark on exploration and self-discovery. The camaraderie, challenges, and revelations we shared are not confined to a select few but are open to all who dare to seek them. Schedule Updates!

After careful consideration and a significant investment of time and energy in planning and conducting my latest class, I've decided to reschedule not only my three upcoming online five-part courses but also my comprehensive “All-in One” webinar series, which reminds me, for this “round” of my eight-part webinar series, not only do you get the webinars for $200 and recordings, but April Vokey from Anchored Outdoors is throwing in a copy of my Masterclass for FREE as well as free membership to her website all for only $200. Shifting dates ensures that I am thoroughly prepared to deliver high-quality content for these events. While keeping keeping self-care in mind. Class ended almost a week ago, and I'm still tired. That means it was a good class. But I need to remember that self-care is paramount. I have adjusted the dates on my schedule page as to when all the online classes take place.

When it comes to my three new online classes, those being awareness and the way of the caretaker, Nature Photography, and Bone Tool, and Jewelry making I am so excited about them that I am going to offer a sale! From now until each of the classes begins, I am offering 20% off! I'm looking forward to running these classes to teach you valuable skills, but I will learn just as much about building a more robust online education system. Discount will be applied at check out. As I've mentioned previously, each class is going to have its own online community space where we can share photos of projects we're working on, ask questions, and I can even get out homework assignments! I will also be uploading videos between webinar sessions.

I've also started offering online preparedness evaluations. Every time I go out to nature and see people who are now woefully under-prepared or visit somebody in the city, I don't see a single gallon jug of water anywhere; this is why I am now offering this new service. While I am immensely grateful for the assistance that my GoFundMe and my Patreon have generated, ultimately, I would MUCH instead earn my money through teaching and Photography! As I contemplate the ongoing support garnered through fundraisers on platforms like GoFundMe and Patreon, I am humbled by the generosity and kindness of the community. A dollar in the box from time to time helps. Especially with my YouTube channel, which I'm trying to grow into a channel with everything from skills to comedy, the art films that I make, and my mini-documentaries. Anyone who edits video knows it takes a long time, so through Support on Patreon or any of my crowdfunding, you can subsidize even more epic content.

Amidst the ebb and flow of life's challenges, I navigate uncharted waters, seeking avenues to sustain and grow my endeavors. In light of this, I am exploring the possibility of welcoming a collaborator with business acumen to join my team. In exchange for their expertise, I offer the invaluable gift of skills instruction with the hope of mutual growth and eventual financial compensation. On a personal note, I must acknowledge the physical toll of my relentless pursuit of creating successful, sustainable businesses. Battling chronic Lyme disease, I faced a health scare during the recent class, reminding me of the importance of self-care amidst my ceaseless endeavors. Prioritizing my health and well-being is the main driver behind the schedule change for upcoming classes, ensuring adequate time for preparation and recovery.

In other exciting news, I am thrilled to announce a collaboration with Cascadia Wild, with plans for a class in early June. Collaborating with local groups who share my passion for nature is integral to spreading awareness and fostering stewardship of our environment. I hope to collaborate with more local organizations that get people into nature

As I embark on new endeavors, I must bid farewell to one chapter while welcoming another. With the guidance of wise counsel, I have launched a separate website, t3-photography.com, dedicated solely to my photography. Here, you can explore and purchase prints in various mediums. T-shirts with my photos on them will remain available in “The School Store”, with plans to relocate them to the new website soon

Every day, I ponder where we went wrong as a species. I try to think of ways to make nature and our role in it something people have at the forefront of their minds. I want them to ask, “What can I do today to improve the world?” My dream is a world of Caretakers moving through life and spreading the Peace, Love, Joy, and Purpose we all inherently crave.

Helping people heighten their awareness, changing the way they move through the world, and teaching the ways our ancient hunter-gatherer ancestors used to live in a close relationship with nature is my vision in life. Following my father’s lead, I have taken the torch, But it has not been easy. Between my lack of business knowledge (Thanks to those of you who have been helping me with this skillset), Lack of funding, and near-crippling Lyme Disease, I find myself in a conundrum. What do I do? I am offering a product that is far superior to any other. This is a chance to help me educate people on the joy of a deep connection to Nature. Every day, the fight gets harder for me as my Lymes disease worsens. I ask with everything I have to please donate so I can realize my vision and not have it cause such detrimental effects on my body. Oh, Help Me Oh-Who-Know-Nature. You're My Only Hope!

Fear. I must not Fear. I was afraid the last time I did a crowdfunding campaign; this time, I am Filled with hope. Despite falling short of my goal in our last fundraiser, FutureNature/T3Photography remains committed to making the best use of the funds I did raise. I believe in transparency and accountability, and I want to take a moment to update everyone on how I utilized the resources I got from my first go-round.
Through my first campaign, I met folks who booked classes everywhere, from Alaska to Tennessee. I am thrilled to have connected with individuals passionate about exploring the beauty of the natural world and empowering them with the skills needed to become that one with nature and a true caretaker.
I find myself in a bit of a conundrum. Even though I have classes booked, I can't collect the money until I run them, and I will be out of funds before that happens. That's the nature of the beast of being an outdoor educator. You can't collect all the funds at once in case people need to cancel, so I only ask for a deposit upfront, with the rest due upon class completion. I didn't expect to have this many difficulties. A big thorn in my side is last June's social media hack. Because of that, I am banned from running ads, and I have yet to figure out how to regain my privileges. Thank you all for considering donating. Your funds will not be wasted. I believe deeply in what I do, and I've been working so hard that it's harming my health due to my chronic Lymes. I would be just as exhausted, even if I didn't have it. I am one person trying to run two businesses, and my goal is to make a better world and a brighter future for all beings and the Earth.

Hi everybody! It's been a little while since I've written to all of you, so I decided to take a little while and “put to paper” some thoughts I've been having as of late, especially after the transitions, trials, and tribulations that I've gone through. It's amazing how one-minute things can be and feel perfect, and then next thing you know, you feel like you're in a snow globe being shaken by a sugar-filled child in a gift store. 

When you're in the middle of the storm, and it seems like all hope has abandoned you, that is when you are most alive. 

Many people think our species is amazing because of what we can create and build. But the true magic of our species lies in the fact that we have emotions. We must learn to fully feel each and every one of them, till they are like old friends. 

Instead of wallowing in my own crapulence, I made the choice to walk through the fire, the fear, the sadness, and the rage. To sum it up, I quote the author Frank Hebert, from the pages of the immortal book Dune: “I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it is gone past, I will turn to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I’m finally settled in my new space and blessed to have a back door that looks into many acres of old-growth forest. I can’t wait to explore all its facets and caretake it with help from the guidance of the spirit that moves in and through all things. 

Anyway, like an ember slowly being blown into a tinder bundle, I have got my spark back, and it burns hotter every day. I will continue to do good works, leading as many as possible to a connection with nature through a class or my photography. I want everyone to experience the rapture of entering the wilderness and seeing the world as I see it. 

We need to break the chains of the technology we've created or use it correctly. People have so little care for the Earth. I'm going to fix that. And I need your help. My ultimate goal is to teach for free. 

Why? Because the skills that I share in my classes are part of our shared human heritage. They're embedded in your DNA. My goal is to by this time next year to run the first of the free classes, with the help of a few well-known top-notch instructors, and run a free five-day class for around 30 people. There will be an application process to make sure the students are those that want nature education but can't afford to pay for a class. 

To realize my Vision, I need your help. I aim to put 10% of every sale I make on my photo prints or class tuitions aside into a fund. When I think the fund has reached an adequate amount where I can afford to rent a facility, pay the instructor staff, and provide food, the first free class will be born. 

If you want to help me with this process, there is my Patreon page, which has many really awesome member gifts. There's also my photography. Any photo that you see me post on social media, or is on my website in the gallery sections is available and can be printed on anything from paper, canvas, glass, and even wood and acrylic. I’m also going to be releasing a new line of T-shirts with my photos on them in the very near future.

As far as the rest of my summer goes, I'm excited to run the classes with Adam Larue and The Sharpening Stone in southern Oregon, plus my class with Andrea Kreiner. I just put 6 online classes on the schedule. They can be taken individually ($100 for 2-2 1/2 hour webinar), or you can buy the package of 6 for $450.
