5-Session Online Bone Tool Making class

Each class will begin at 4 PM to around 6 PM Pacific time

5-Session Bone tool Making ONLINE Class
$250.00

Because my dog passed away, I am adding a sixth session so more folks can sign up. We did one session, but it was short. If you register, I will give you the link to the Google Drive!

If you ever find yourself lost in the woods and forget the knife you usually carry, you should learn as many ways of creating a sharp edge using natural materials as possible. The art of flint knapping is breaking certain types of rocks that only exist in various pockets around the country into stone knives and arrowheads. You can take some rocks, smash them on the ground, and get an edge to carve a Bowdrill notch, but you'll want something a little more precise eventually. Bone tools can be shaped into anything from the fishhook to spearpoint. That material is animal bone.

Class Dates: all classes begin at 4 PM Pacific and end at 6 PM

  • 4/6/24 Part 1

  • 5/11/24 Part 2

  • 6/8/24 Part 3

  • 6/29/24 Part 4

  • 7/20/24 Part 5

  • 8/5/24 part 6

Throughout this class experience, I will teach you:

  • How to find animal bones

  • Processing them in a way to maximizes the amount of tools you can get from a single piece of bone.

  • Show you how to process and utilize the sinews, which can be used for anything from sewing to making a bowstring, and in the context of this class, how to attach a bone arrowhead to the arrow itself.

  • I will also teach you how to process evergreen tree sap into what is known as "pitch glue." It makes for fantastic waterproofing

  • a few tools you will learn to make are spears/arrowheads, needles, and knives, to name a few! Oh, and jewelry as well!

  • We will create a group chat in WhatsApp or something like that, so they can always contact each other for questions and show off the cool things you're making!

The Art And Science Of Wilderness Survival (Sandy, Or)

"The Art and Science of Wilderness immersion" a 4-day Learning Adventure!
Sale Price:$400.00 Original Price:$500.00

Long before we lived in cities and towns, our ancestors relied on a set of art forms to exist in the wild places. They had a very deep connection to the landscape because the things that existed there sustained them. By learning these primitive art forms, we establish a deeper connection with our ancestors and learn about nature. We can make any tool we need from gathering things in the wild, building shelter, and finding food. When we are in direct contact with our surroundings, we look upon the world through a new lens of reverence, respect, and thanksgiving.

Another hidden benefit of learning these arts is the ability to care for yourself and your family should an emergency arise in the wilderness by applying the principles our forebearers used to survive so that we can take care of ourselves in almost any situation that arises.

Wildlife Tracking and Awareness: Awakening our senses and instincts

Who are the animals that live in the woods around us? How do we expand our awareness to find their signs and maybe even get a glimpse of the animals themselves?

Our modern lifestyle cuts us off, not only from the natural world but also from our senses. In this class, you will learn to undo the focused vision that years of being inside by taking our physical scientist to the gym; we will learn how to expand your awareness through focused activities, story, games, and practice. The goal is to wake ourselves up and, through the process, expand our observations of the natural world and of the animals we share it with. Throughout the class, we will also be looking for signs of our animal neighbors, learning how to interpret the tracks and other signs an animal may have passed through. We will learn to not just look but truly see. Movement is also crucial to blending in to any natural setting. You will learn movement modalities that will not only enrich your time in nature, but have been scientifically proven to be much easier on your body and your joints. By looking and moving differently, a whole New World opens to us, one full of wonder and mystery.

Nature Awareness & Observation (Sandy, Or)

Awareness is the most essential life skill. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors had a far greater awareness than modern humans do. Our lack of awareness puts us on a path through life where are we never really know anything. We were so busy chasing allusive goals that we fail to live in the moment and notice the beauty in wonder around us.

Nature Immersion: Connecting With Nature Through Awareness, Movement, and Instinct (A collaboration between FutureNature and Les Primitifs)

This class is a collaboration Between T3 and FutureNature and Mathieu Hébert of Les Primitifs And will take place outside Sandy, Oregon. Sandy is about an hour east of Portland. The class will be run on a beautiful property of old and second-growth rainforest. It is one of the most amazing patches of woods I have explored!

Mathieu has been a survival instructor since 2007.

He founded "Les Primitifs Survival School," which is a pioneer in the French-speaking world in Quebec.

His teaching style is rooted in experimentation through exposure to the elements and a return to our wild identity. He travels tirelessly all over the globe to learn and transmit. He lives in Rivière-à-Pierre, a small village on the edge of vast and pure boreal nature. While specializing in winter survival, he loves all climates and weather. With an authentic approach, he loves coaching people towards achieving their goals.

Do you enjoy your life? Is it filled with adventure or are you someone who works ceaselessly selling your time to help chase someone else’s dreams? What is the meaning of life?

Does a honeybee awake each morning pondering such things? No, once it warms up enough in the morning Sun, it heads off, ending its day, pollinating flowers and other plants and trees. I can point to hundreds of different examples of this in nature.

How come we, supposedly the most superior of all beings, with all our fancy gadgets and technology, can't figure out what we're supposed to do with what little time we have on this planet? I believe that is the role of the caretaker, warrior, and speaker for the ones whose voices most choose not to hear. During our experience, we will unravel the mystery of nature through a series of exercises designed to help you plug into nature and instantly know where to find anything you may need. We will learn to move across the landscape like a shadow, our eyes open to a whole new world. Plus, I love the community that builds when people worldwide come together. Until then…

An adventure awaits you in Oregon! In a magnificent forest, you will follow the teachings of T3, which will change your relationship with nature. Beyond common survival principles, you will immerse yourself in a symbiotic relationship with nature. Thomas has a very intimate personal approach to nature, and you will benefit from his extraordinary coaching. You will put your new knowledge into practice during a short survival quest lasting 2 days and 2 nights. This adventure will positively impact the participants and change their relationship with the natural world. A word from Thomas Brown III (T3): I spoke with my good friend Mathieu Hébert. We have been friends for years since we met at Tracker School. Since then, his school has become one of the best winter survival schools in the world. The course will focus on various skills, from awareness and movement to cultivating what I call “the natural mind.” The natural mind is the ability to connect with the landscape and know where to find certain resources you need to maintain your life force in a survival situation. This is a one-time class, and only a few spots will be open. Current dates are March 4-9 here in Sandy, Oregon.

When you click the register button, you will be taken to a page that is in French. The easiest way to translate is Google Translate and I'm pretty sure most browsers have a translation feature any questions let me know.

Due to the number of people, MATTHEW is bringing with him. There are only five spaces available for this class. That's right only five! So don't hesitate

Class Cost $600

Photography Through the Eyes of the Tracker (Online) with Tom Brown jr.

Many think Nature is Chaos, but if you look deeper, you will see the pattern

I am so excited to finally announce That my father, Tom Brown jr, and I will run an Online photography class! I’m so excited! Here are his words “I’m teaming up with my son Tommy, better known as T3, to run a very unique class on Nature Photography. As many of you know, Tommy, as I call him, was the head instructor at the Tracker School for a few years before he moved to Oregon, where he now runs his own set of unique classes. He is also a very accomplished nature photographer. Many of his pictures leave me stunned especially when he focuses on the little hidden things in nature that most people miss. This class will be unique and thrilling in that just calling it Nature Photography would be an insult. It is far more than just snapping a picture. This will not be a classic photojournalism class that you would take in college, for it is far more than that. We want to incorporate the Scout Hunting, awareness, stalking, tracking, and so many other teachings into the class where instead of hunting with a primitive weapon, you will use the same techniques and skills to hunt with a camera. This class is really going to change the way you take pictures, no matter if you’re using a cell phone or a Hasselblad camera.”-Tom Brown Jr

Nature Observation, and Awareness (Sandy Or)

Awareness and Nature Observation
$150.00

Awareness is the most crucial life skill, and most people don’t realize that it is being stolen from them by a society of safety, security, and comfort. It's not that being safe, secure, and comfortable is the worst thing in the world, but it cuts us off from so many wonderful experiences. We travel through our days in our 72° bubbles, afraid to get hot or cold or wet. It doesn't take much awareness to live in modern society. You don't have to hunt and be able to read the landscape and tell how long ago the herd of elk came through. Or listen for another alarm call from the Stellers jays and try to decide if they are alarmed at an owl or a bobcat. Along with our awareness also went our instincts. In this class, I will teach you how your awareness has been stolen and, more importantly, how to get it back. After this class, we will not look upon life the same way ever again.

Stealth and Natural Movement (online)

Natural Movement 101
$35.00

Learn how to move like a shadow across the landscape! By practicing the techniques learned in this class, your Nature experiences will be exponentially enhanced! When a modern human enters, the Woods is like an alien invader creating a week of disturbance. If you want to have experiences where you see wildlife and get a deeper sense of connection when you enter the wild, movement is critical. We must learn to match our movements to the Ebb and flow of what's happening around us. We can become invisible by learning to match our movements to the baseline.

  • Please try to be in the waiting room five minutes before the start time so we can start at four.

  • Even though webinars are scheduled to be two hours, they often run longer. If that happens, I will take a five-minute break in between.

  • All students will receive a recording of the event!
